Swansea City have released Spanish midfielder Guillem Bauza.
The 25-year-old becomes the latest player to head out the Swans' exit door as boss Paulo Sousa begins preparations for another campaign in the Championship by trimming his squad.
Bauza is the second senior player to leave the Liberty Stadium after three years at the Welsh club and joins defender Marcos Painter, who agreed a two-year pre-contract with Brighton on Friday.
"As a manager you always have tough decisions to make," Sousa told the club's
official website.
"Bussy has played an important part in the club's recent rise and I'm sure everyone would like to thank him for his efforts.
"He has a new challenge ahead of him now and we all wish him every success for the future."
Sousa, whose Swansea side narrowly missed out on the play-offs this year, has also told youngsters James Burgin, Daniel Sheehan and Kieran Howard they have no future at the club.
New deals
Meanwhile, Swansea duo Andrea Orlandi and Jazz Richards look set to remain at the club with both players on the verge of agreeing new deals at the Liberty Stadium.
Spanish midfielder Orlandi made 31 appearances for the Swans last season while highly-rated youngster Richards impressed with some excellent performances at right-back.
And chairman Huw Jenkins admits the club are trying to tie the two players, along with Fede Bessone, Albert Serran and Shaun MacDonald, to new deals.
"We have offered Andrea a contract and we are waiting for a response," Jenkins told
the Evening Post.
"Jazz has already received a contract offer, which is almost agreed, while Shaun will have an offer on the table soon when we speak to his agent this week.
"We are also hoping to meet with Fede and Albert's agents this week. Despite looking at trimming the squad, we realise that getting our squad settled is very important.
"While we have had to look at reducing the playing staff, it was vital that we secured the futures of individuals who we feel will play a big part in our plans next season."
