Nottingham Forest assistant boss David Kelly believes manager Billy Davies' experience will help in the play-offs.
Forest secured third place in the Championship following a 2-2 draw at Scunthorpe after Davies' side let a two-goal lead slip.
They now face in-form Blackpool over two legs in the play-offs, with the winner meeting Cardiff or Leicester at Wembley on 22nd May.
In the days to come, Kelly believes the side can draw on the experience of Davies as the Forest boss has led both Preston and Derby into the play-offs in recent years.
Kelly said: "The experience helps towards how we can set up and we'll look how we have done in the past.
"We'll go into those games as well prepared as we possibly can be but we haven't played Blackpool in the play-offs before so that bit is new."
But Kelly knows it will not be easy edging past Blackpool as the Seasiders won both the league games between the pair.
"They've beaten us twice and they are a good team," he added. "It'll be a tough game but hopefully we'll have a bit of luck and get to Wembley."
Adkins hope
Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins hailed the efforts of his players following a successful season at Glanford Park.
The Iron had already ensured back-to-back seasons in the second tier for the first time in 46 years.
While Gary Hooper and Grant McCann have now been linked with moves away from the club after being among the Scunthorpe players who have caught the eye this term, Adkins hopes to keep hold of his stars.
He said: "We need to reward them. The players have achieved in the Championship.
"There are clubs out there with far greater resources who can give them greater rewards but I know the club has done all it can. We have really pushed the boat out.
"The lads have done the business and they have to do right by themselves.
"If they leave, they will leave as heroes."
