Peter Ramage says the QPR players must take their share of the blame following the club's failure to win promotion to the top-flight this term.
The Championship outfit have endured a turbulent season off the field with three managers at the helm, while in the boardroom former owner Flavio Briatore stepped down as chairman.
Despite these changes, defender Ramage insists the players have let the fans down with their performances.
He told the Fulham Chronicle: "Hopefully I'll never experience this type of year ever again. It's been turbulent to say the least, and it's been testing on the players.
"But no matter how many managers we've had and no matter how many board changes, the bottom line is we've let the fans down - because so much was expected of us at the beginning.
"If we'd performed better we wouldn't have had so many managers."
