West Brom new boy Andwele Slory has set his sights on winning promotion to the Premier League after joining from Feyenoord.
The Dutch winger arrived at The Hawthorns on an initial five-month deal on deadline day, although there are various clauses in the contract that could see him remain with West Brom for a further two years.
It is thought that a 12-month extension will automatically be activated if the Baggies go up to the Premier League and that his where his focus lies at the moment.
"I have signed for one-and-a-half years but it's a difficult construction," Slory told the
Express and Star.
"It could also be two-and-a-half years so I just want to play for as long as possible and get the team back to the Premier League and help the guys wherever I can.
"That is my goal here."
Time to move
West Brom were able to sign Slory for a nominal fee due to financial problems at Feyenoord and he is now determined to make an impact in England.
"It was a good season for me at Feyenoord but everybody knows the troubles at Feyenoord financially," he said.
"They had an option on me but they couldn't afford me any more so it was good for me and for them to sell me now so they did.
"Feyenoord is still in my heart and will always be in my heart but it was time to move on and that's just normal in football.
"I am proud to be here at West Brom and I want to show myself here and show the people that I am worthy of the shirt."
Lacking rhythm
Slory is available for Wednesday's Championship clash with Blackpool but is not likely to make his debut as he has not played since before Christmas.
"I'm fit but I think I'm missing a little bit of rhythm," he said.
"I had my first training session yesterday with the guys.
"We'll see when the gaffer uses me but I think he will use me soon."
