Derby County have signed out-of-favour Stoke midfielder Michael Tonge on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 28-year-old, who had a month-long spell at Preston earlier in the season, will go straight into the Rams squad for the Championship game at Sheffield United on Saturday.
"Michael is a player with a proven pedigree and will give us added quality in the ranks," said Derby boss Nigel Clough.
"He is with us until the end of the season and has made it clear he will fight for a place in our first team and do everything he can to help us achieve a healthy position in the Championship.
"He loves to get on the ball and make things happen; he is also vastly experienced at this level and above. We saw him play for Preston earlier in the season when he was on loan there and he impressed us."
