Stoke midfielder Tom Soares has extended his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday until the end of the season.
The former Crystal Palace midfielder, who initially joined the Championship strugglers on a one-month loan deal in November, will be available to play in the Owls' encounter with Scunthorpe on Wednesday, subject to Premier League clearance.
Wednesday manager Alan Irvine said: "I'm really pleased to bring Tom back to Sheffield Wednesday for the remainder of the season.
"He has really impressed me in the short time I have been at the club so far and he'll prove a very important addition to the squad for the busy schedule of fixtures we have to come."
The 23-year-old, who made his debut against West Brom in November, has made seven appearances for the club, scoring once.
