Clinton Morrison has entered talks concerning a new contract at Coventry City.

The Republic of Ireland striker has netted nine times already this season despite being commonly used as a 'super-sub' by boss Chris Coleman.

His current deal at the Ricoh Arena expires in the summer but the 30-year-old is keen to sign an extension.

He told the Coventry Telegraph: "The club have been speaking to my agent so I think we are in negotiations. I have just got to see how it goes.

"I am happy here and want to keep doing it on the pitch. The other strikers are doing well here and it's keeping everyone on their toes."

"There's not been an offer yet but we are talking so it looks like the club do want me to stay, which is good news."
