Oldham Athletic have opted against extending Darryl Flahavan's loan spell due to injury.
The Crystal Palace goalkeeper's loan expired following Monday's postponed League One clash with Hartlepool.
Oldham were initially keen to extend the shot-stopper's stay after he impressed during his two-month spell with the Latics.
However, after X-rays confirmed he suffered a fractured cheekbone against Wycombe he is now out of action.
With the 31-year-old due for a six-week spell on the treatment table, manager Dave Penney has shelved plans to retain him.
