Preston winger Ross Wallace has hit out after being booked for celebrating in Monday's 1-1 draw at derby rivals Blackpool.
The Scotland international curled a classy strike into the top corner seven minutes before the break to cancel out Billy Clarke's early opener.
Wallace was cautioned after he ran to the visiting supporters to celebrate and a steward was slightly injured after becoming caught up in the melee.
The 24-year-old said: "I slid along the touchline, I didn't go off the pitch.
"When I was being booked the referee told me it was for encouraging the fans to go on to the pitch.
"I didn't do that, it's a stupid rule about goal celebrations - at least I didn't take my shirt off this time."
