Derby manager Nigel Clough has thanked Bryan Hughes following his return to Hull City after a one-month loan spell at Pride Park.
The 33-year-old was brought in to bolster manager Clough's midfield options, which had been depleted by injuries.
Hughes made three starts for the Rams during the loan spell, which ended after Friday night's 1-0 defeat at Swansea.
Clough told the club's official website: "I would like to thank Bryan for his efforts, as well as Hull City for helping us out by allowing Bryan to join us.
"He has done well in the games but with the options we have available I couldn't guarantee him a starting place, but he goes back to Hull with our very best wishes."
