Winger not offered extension after two months at Oakwell

Barnsley have released Julian Gray after the winger spent the last two months with the Championship club. Gray, who left Fulham over the summer, joined Barnsley on a month-to-month deal in September due to injuries in Mark Robins' squad. The 30-year-old made seven appearances for the Tykes, but he started only one match in the Championship during his time at Oakwell. Tykes boss Robins has now opted against extending the former Crystal Palace and Birmingham City man's deal at the club. Robins told the club's official website: "Julian came in when we had injury problems and I would like to place on record my thanks for his services during his time with us." Meanwhile, young striker Michael Coulson has returned to Barnsley after scoring once in five outings on loan at Blue Square Premier side Chester City.
