On-loan striker could make move permanent

Bristol City have an option to sign on-loan striker Alvaro Saborio on a permanent basis. Robins boss Gary Johnson has confirmed the club are in pole position to land the front-man should he impress at Ashton Gate this season. The Costa Rican striker, who has joined City from Swiss club Sion until the end of the season, opened his account in the 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe on Saturday. Johnson revealed the club had been keeping close taps on Saborio, who has two years left to run of his contract at Sion, for 18 months. He told the Bristol Evening Post: "We tried to get him last year but they wanted £3million and that wasn't right at that time. "But a year down the line sometimes they get more expensive and sometimes they get cheaper. He is still going to be (a signing that would need) a transfer fee because he is on loan but we have got the option and we will see how he goes until the end of the season. "We have already agreed a fee if both parties want to do it."
