Barnsley defender Luke Potter is facing up to six weeks on the sidelines after undergoing a knee operation.
The 20-year-old suffered a knee injury in the Tykes' 2-1 win over Reading in the Carling Cup last month and was told he needed surgery.
He underwent surgery on Thursday and Barnsley physio Chris Burton revealed that the operation was a success but the left-back will need time to recover.
"Luke underwent an operation on a torn medial meniscus," he said. "Everything went well and he should be back in six weeks."
Barnsley lie at the foot of the Championship table and are currently seeking a new manager after the dismissal of former boss Simon Davey, with Rotherham boss Mark Robins reportedly close to agreeing terms with the Tykes.
