Northampton Town manager Stuart Gray is confident Adebayor Akinfenwa is fully committed to the club after a return to Swansea City fell through.
Akinfenwa, who played for Swansea between 2005 and 2007, had been lined up for a return to the Liberty Stadium before the close of the transfer window.
However, despite the two clubs agreeing a deal for the striker, the Championship side withdrew their interest in re-signing the 27-year-old.
Gray admits Akinfenwa had appeared to be on his way to South Wales, but does not expect the player to lose focus on the job at hand following the transfer's collapse.
"Everything was agreed between the two clubs and Bayo was on his way to discuss personal terms," said Gray.
"For some reason Swansea pulled out, but that happens in football. It's not a deal until everything is signed.
"So Bayo remains a Cobblers player and he will give 100% as he has done in every game he has played for the club."
