Scunthorpe United boss Nigel Adkins says there are no imminent plans to sign Simon Walton despite taking the Plymouth Argyle midfielder on trial.
Walton is spending the week training with Scunthorpe as his future with Championship rivals Plymouth remains up in the air.
The 21-year-old, who finished last season on loan at Blackpool, was left out of Plymouth's pre-season trip to Scotland and also recently trained with Millwall.
However, Adkins insists he is simply 'having a look' at the former Leeds United youngster and is not a promising a deal will be done.
"There is no view to a permanent move, or view to a loan," Adkins told the club's official website.
"We're just having a look at him and we'll take it from there.
"We've been aware of Simon for quite a while.
"We've been tracking him for a while and, to be fair, we have made enquiries on a couple of occasions."
