New Birmingham City signing Scott Dann has paid tribute to former club Coventry City for making his Premier League move possible.
The centre-half joined the top flight new boys this week for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £3.5m, a club record for a defender.
The 22-year-old only joined the Sky Blues from Walsall in January last year but has attracted interest from leading Championship clubs and fellow midlands outfit Wolves, who also return to the Premier League next season.
Dann netted four goals in 49 appearances for Coventry, including the winner against Birmingham at the Ricoh Arena last season, and has announced his appreciation for his time there.
"I'm extremely grateful to Coventry City for giving me the chance to play at the top level and the past 18 months at the club have been extremely enjoyable for me," he told Coventry's official website.
"I take with me some great memories but felt that, personally, this was the best move for me and an opportunity I felt I could not pass up."
