Plymouth midfielder Simon Walton has ruled out the possibility of rejoining Blackpool this summer.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a loan spell with the Seasiders towards the end of the 2008/09 campaign.

However, with Ian Holloway now in charge at Bloomfield Road, replacing Tony Parkes, Walton admits he is unlikely to be heading back to Blackpool any time soon.

He told the Gazette: "I did all right at Blackpool and I impressed in training but I haven't had any contact with anyone so I don't think anything is going to happen there.

"The caretaker manager (Parkes) and his staff who dealt with me have all gone so I think that door is closed now.

"The only thing to do is to get back down to Plymouth on 1st July and work my tail off until somebody tells me differently."
