Keane hoping to keep midfielder

Scunthorpe's hopes of re-signing Ipswich midfielder Liam Trotter appear to be remote after he was offered a new deal to stay at Portman Road. The 20-year-old has been out on loan for most of the season and helped guide Nigel Adkins' side to promotion from League One at Wembley last month. He is out of contract with the Tractor Boys but new manager Roy Keane is keen to keep hold of him. Keane told the club's official website: "I have had a chat with Liam and we have offered him a new contract. "I've told him that I'd like to keep him at the club."
