Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws has ended his pursuit of Bristol City striker Dele Adebola.
The 33-year-old, who hit 10 goals for the Robins this season, is thought to be a target for a number of Championship clubs.
Adebola is available on a free transfer but the Hillsborough side have been put off making a move by the competition from elsewhere.
Laws said: "Adebola has been offered huge sums to stay in the Championship.
"That's something we don't want to get into and that's something we have dropped at this present time."
