Lunt and Small not offered new contracts at Hillsborough

Kenny Lunt and Wade Small have left Sheffield Wednesday after the duo's contracts were cancelled by mutual consent. Both players were due to be out of contract in the summer and have not been offered new deals to stay at Hillsborough. Lunt joined the Owls from Crewe Alexandra in 2006 and the midfielder has twice returned to his former club for loan spells. Small, meanwhile, has been on loan at the club's Championship rivals Blackpool since March and must also find a new team for next season. Owls boss Brian Laws told the club's official website: "I would like to thank Kenny Lunt and Wade Small for their service to Sheffield Wednesday. "As we make plans for the future of this club it is inevitable that some players will leave and I wish both players good luck in their future careers." Laws is expected to release the full list of players that he wants to keep at Hillsborough next season by the end of next week.
