Birmingham defender David Murphy will miss the rest of the club's promotion push due to a broken kneecap.
The left-back picked up the injury in the final minutes of Saturday's victory over Watford and will now miss Birmingham's home game with Preston and away game at Reading.
"There was a three-man collision towards the end of the game that also included Djimi (Traore) and David split his kneecap," Blues boss Alex McLeish told the club's official website.
"He's going to get that pinned and we believe he could be back for the start of pre-season.
"We are disappointed for David and obviously we have lost a player who was coming back to full fitness and had done very well in the last couple of weeks.
"But we have coped admirably with absences in the past and now there is a chance for Djimi Traore to show his massive experience in high level football."
The news will be a blow to Birmingham who have already lost Liam Ridgewell for six to nine months after the broken leg suffered against Plymouth.
