Derby County will be without Jay McEveley's services for the last four games of the season after breaking a metatarsal.
The former Blackburn left-back broke a bone in his foot in Easter Monday's 3-2 home defeat to league leaders Wolves.
Rams boss Nigel Clough has bemoaned the timing of the injury with a number of defenders already on the sidelines receiving treatment.
Big blow
"It's a big blow to us as we are already short of defenders and Jay has been playing extremely well for us since coming back into team," Clough told the club's official website.
"We seemed to be blighted with metatarsal injuries at the moment, with Jay joining Paul Green, Steve Davies and Miles Addison who are all out for the rest of the campaign.
"It means we will have to dig in as a squad and make the best of it; we have four matches remaining and it is imperative to get the points we need to secure our survival."
