Birmingham have submitted a claim to the Football Association in an effort to get Maik Taylor's red card against Plymouth rescinded.
The experienced keeper was dismissed after 23 minutes of Easter Monday's 1-1 draw with the Pilgrims.
The incident saw the visitors awarded a penalty after Taylor was given his marching orders, but the Blues believe the decision was wrong.
They have now sent correspondence and DVD evidence to the FA in the hope of having the ruling overturned.
A regulatory commission will meet on Wednesday to discuss the issue and a decision will made as soon as possible after that.
Meanwhile, Birmingham have also reported that Liam Ridgewell has undergone a successful operation on a broken leg he suffered against Plymouth.
