Blackpool defender Ian Evatt has pledged his future to the club by signing a new deal at Bloomfield Road.

Evatt, who joined the Seasiders in 2006 from Queens Park Rangers, has inked a new two-year contract with the option for a further year.

The 27-year-old, who joins Ben Burgess in signing improved terms, was more than happy to extend his stay with the Championship outfit.

"I'm delighted to have signed a new contract," Evatt told the club's official website.

"I love it here at Blackpool. We have a great set of lads who work hard for each other, the staff are excellent and the supporters are something else.

"The atmosphere they create, particularly at Bloomfield Road, is second to none.

"Hopefully they'll see this as good news and they'll get behind the lads on Saturday in a massive game against Plymouth."
