Sheffield Wednesday winger Etienne Esajas is desperate for a return to the first team after featuring for the reserves this week.
The Dutchman has been out for 12 weeks with a broken toe but made a return to action against Lincoln reserves, completing 45 minutes on Wednesday night.
"I wanted to play longer but they told me to take it easy," said the former Vitesse man. "I just need to get my fitness back and that's my aim over the next couple of weeks."
The 24-year-old is keen on featuring in the first team again but knows he will have to work hard and be patient in the meantime.
"I've been out for too long, I've missed lots of games but I'm willing to do anything to get back playing in the first team.
"I wouldn't say I'll be back involved straight away but I hope to get back on the bench and hopefully I'll get some chances," he added.
