Crystal Palace winger Sean Scannell may require surgery on a hernia problem which would rule him out for the rest of the season.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international's injury flared up again during the 2-1 win over Preston earlier this month and he has missed the last four games.
Eagles boss Neil Warnock admitted that he expects Scannell to have to go under the knife before the end of the current campaign.
"Sean has a hernia problem and it is looking highly likely that he will need an operation before the end of the season," Eagles boss Neil Warnock told the Croydon Advertiser.
"Initial scans show that he has a problem - but he will see a specialist next Tuesday to determine the best course of action to take.
"If surgery is required then he will have it before the end of the season which would rule him out of the rest of this season - but would mean he will be fit to start pre-season."
