Sheffield Wednesday have signed Derby striker Luke Varney on a one-month loan deal.
The 26-year-old signed a permanent contract with the Rams in January after initially joining from Charlton in November, but has struggled to make an impact in Nigel Clough's team.
Varney has only made nine appearances for Derby, scoring one goal after netting twice for Charlton earlier in the season.
And Owls manager Brian Laws insists he is getting more than goals from his acquisition.
"We know a lot about Luke and what I can say without question is that he has a tremendous work ethic. What he needs now is to get some regular games and goals under his belt," Laws said.
"He had an excellent strike rate at Crewe and I'm confident he can show that kind of form for Sheffield Wednesday. I'm delighted to welcome him to the club."
Varney could make his Owls debut on Saturday against Swansea but will not be permitted to face his parent club at Hillsborough on 11th April under Football League rules.
