Kris Commons has vowed to 'give it everything' as he bids to come back from injury and play in Scotland's next two World Cup qualifiers.

A calf injury has sidelined the 25-year-old for the last month but he is desperate to return for Scotland's qualifier in Holland on 28th March, before George Burley's men then take on Iceland at Hampden four days later.

The Derby winger is targeting the Rams' Championship clash with Barnsley as his comeback game as he seeks to prove his fitness.

He told the Derby Evening Telegraph: "I am looking at the Barnsley game on 21st March to come back if all goes well.

"The Scotland matches are on 28th March and 1st April, so I'll give it everything I've got to make sure I have every chance of playing.

"It would be fantastic to be involved in those games."
