Midfielder head back to Doncaster after loan spell

Stuart Elliott has returned to Doncaster Rovers after spending the past two months on loan at Grimsby Town. The midfielder originally moved to Blundell Park on a one-month deal in January before extending his stay for a second month. Grimsby boss Mike Newell had been weighing up the possibility of keeping hold of Elliott for a third and final month. However, after playing in the Mariners' 5-1 thrashing of Lincoln City on Saturday, Elliott has decided to head back to Doncaster.

Brilliant

"I've just had a word with Stuart and he says he's going back to Doncaster," Newell told the club's official website. "We've thanked him, he's done brilliant for us. "He's got a great attitude, he's very professional and we've got a couple of results with him in the side. "When you weigh up how many wins we have had this season, you've got to say that he's done well for us."
