Davies arrives on month-long loan deal

Preston have snapped up Stoke defender Andrew Davies on a month's emergency loan deal. Davies was strongly linked with a move to Norwich during the January transfer window, but the deal failed to materialise. Stoke are willing to loan out the former England Under 21 international so that he can work on his fitness after seeing his time at the Britannia Stadium blighted by a series of injuries. "He desperately needs games, particularly competitive matches, and that's why we've been so keen to let him go out," said Potters boss Tony Pulis. Davies is in line to make his Preston debut this weekend, ironically against former suitors Norwich.
