Ipswich midfielder to train with Scunthorpe

Ipswich midfielder Liam Trotter is to spend a couple of days training with Scunthorpe. The 20-year-old has been at Ipswich since 2006 but has yet to establish himself as a regular starter in Jim Magilton's side. He was loaned out to League Two side Grimsby for three months earlier this season and made a positive impression at Blundell Park. Iron manager Nigel Adkins has now offered the midfielder the opportunity to try and impress him in training. However, Adkins has stated that Trotter's stay is not with a view to a loan or permanent deal at this stage. Adkins is also set to decide on the futures of a number of players who will be out of contract in the summer.
