Leeds are lining up a move for Derby defender Claude Davis, skysports.com understands.

Leeds boss Simon Grayson admitted last weekend he was keen to bolster his defensive options and Davis is believed to be at the top of his wanted list.

Former Preston and Sheffield United star Davis has fallen down the pecking order at Pride Park, with his last appearance coming in November.

The Jamaica international is thought to be interested in a move away from Derby to get his career back on track and the news has alerted Leeds.

Derby chief Nigel Clough is looking to trim his squad and, with plenty of defensive strength in depth, he could decide to offload Davis in this month's transfer window.
