Cort seals Canaries switch

Carl Cort has joined Norwich City for the remainder of the season after impressing Canaries boss Glenn Roeder.

Experienced hit-man feeling back to his best

Carl Cort believes he is in the best physical and mental condition he has experienced for years, after joining Norwich City for the remainder of the season. The former Leicester, Wolves and Newcastle striker had been training with The Canaries over the past few weeks and clearly did enough to impress manager Glenn Roeder. Cort spent half of last season at Leicester, but only made 14 Championship appearances without finding the back of the net. The 31-year-old, who once cost Newcastle £7million, admits he was not quite right physically or mentally to play professional football last season.

Excited

However, Cort is excited about the chance to play for the Carrow Road side and is hoping to make his debut against Watford on Wednesday. "I'm very excited," he told Sky Sports News on joining the East Anglian outfit. "Thinking about being in this situation last year I would probably have laughed actually because I was in a bad way physically and mentally. "But the way I feel now I feel fantastic. It's probably the fittest I've been in several years now. "If I can play a part in tomorrow's game I'll be delighted."
