Cardiff City winger Joe Ledley has undergone surgery to his finger which will keep him out for up to a month.
The 21-year-old has played 15 times for Cardiff this season, scoring once, and has attracted attention from Premier League clubs such as Everton and Arsenal in the past.
The Welsh international is set to miss a number of crucial Championship games against City's promotion rivals including Plymouth Argyle, Reading, Burnley and Ipswich Town.
Ledley will also be absent from the Welsh derby against Swansea City and it is this fixture which the Cardiff-born youngster will be most disappointed to miss out on.
The winger had an impressive 2007/08 season as he helped Cardiff reach the FA Cup final where they eventually lost 1-0 to Portsmouth.
He also found the net 11 times from 47 starts, including the memorable winner in the semi-final of the FA Cup against Barnsley at Wembley.
Ledley has also picked up 24 Wales caps, scoring two goals in the process.
