Dutch defender hopes to feature against Swansea

Doncaster Rovers have snapped up West Bromwich Albion defender Shelton Martis on a one-month loan deal. Martis has not featured for the Baggies this season and spent a spell on loan in the Championship with Scunthorpe United last term. He is looking forward to his stint at the Keepmoat Stadium and the Dutch stopper hopes to be involved in Saturday's game with Swansea City. "The manager called me first on Wednesday afternoon, before speaking to me again on Thursday at the training ground," Martis told the club's official website.

Ready

"After speaking to him, the decision to come here on loan was very easy. I hope I can do well. "I've got a good spring, I am quick, and I can pass the ball. I feel that I have good composure and I love to play football. I feel that I can play good balls into the strikers and hope that I can create chances for them. "There is a chance I will be thrown in at the deep end, but that is the gaffer's choice and if he needs me, I am ready." Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll has signed the centre-half due to fitness concerns over Jos van Nieuwstadt, Gordon Greer and Adam Lockwood.
