Derby forward Steve Davies faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a fractured eye-socket.
The summer signing from Tranmere sustained the injury during Saturday's 2-1 win over Plymouth.
Davies has undergone an operation to correct the problem and he could face up to three months on the sidelines.
Rams boss Paul Jewell admitted it was a big blow to lose the 20-year-old for a lengthy period.
"It's a big blow for us," Jewell told Radio Derby.
"He played really well against Norwich, scored his goal against Birmingham and it's a blow for him."
