Nottingham Forest are on the verge of agreeing a one-month loan deal for Brighton defender Joel Lynch.
The youngster is equally comfortable operating at full-back or in the heart of the back four and is a product of the Seagulls' youth academy.
The 20-year-old was part of the Brighton side which reached the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup in 2006, and was rewarded with a place in the first-team squad the following season.
The former England youth international has been a regular feature in the South Coast club's side ever since, racking up 88 appearances along the way.
He has, however, been restricted to just two substitute appearances this season and handed in a transfer request at the end of August.
Forest boss Colin Calderwood admits he has been tracking Lynch for some time and is looking forward to working with the player.
"He's a player I have looked at in the past and this gives us a good opportunity to have a look at him for a month," Calderwood told the Reds' official website.
