Chester City have rejected an approach from a Championship club to take Damien Mozika on loan.
Mozika only linked up with the Blues in the summer from Nancy and has made six appearances for the League Two club.
The midfielder's performances for Simon Davies' side have already attracted interest from a higher level, with a Championship team keen to sign the 21-year-old on loan with a view to a permanent deal in January.
However, Chester owner Stephen Vaughan has confirmed the offer was turned down as the club do not want to loan out Mozika.
"The enquiry came from a Championship club who wanted to take Damien initially on loan, with a view to a permanent transfer," Vaughan told the Chester Chronicle.
"Quite frankly that sort of deal doesn't appeal to us. We want Damien to be a part of our immediate future.
"If the club came back early in the New Year with a firm proposal then we would talk to them again, but we aren't interested in a loan arrangement."
