Midfielder wanted chance to talk to Stoke

Skysports.com understands Joe Ledley is disappointed Cardiff have rejected a bid from Stoke City. Cardiff revealed earlier on Monday that they had rejected a sizeable offer for Ledley from an unnamed club, widely believed to be Stoke. It was suggested that the bid was £5million, but skysports.com understands that the actual offer for the Welshman was £6million. Ledley has come through the ranks at Cardiff and is regarded as one of the best young players outside the top flight. Sources close to the player say that the 21-year-old is disappointed that he was not afforded the chance to hold talks with Stoke and that the club denied him the chance to fulfil his dream of playing in the Premier League. Ledley, who has two years remaining on his Bluebirds contract, is believed to be bemused that the club rejected the bid even though they have allowed Aaron Ramsey, Chris Gunter and Glenn Loovens to all leave Ninian Park in the last year.
