Burnley are set to sign Sunderland defender Russell Anderson on a season-long loan deal.
Anderson has struggled to make an impact at the Stadium of Light since joining the club from Aberdeen 12 months ago.
The Scotland international made just two first-team appearances for the Black Cats and finished the campaign on loan at Plymouth Argyle.
He is now set for another spell in the Championship after Sunderland confirmed he is due to move to Burnley.
Plymouth had been linked with a bid to re-sign the 29-year-old, while Leeds United were also reported to be holding an interest.
However, Anderson is expected to finalise his switch to Turf Moor, where he will spend the season with Owen Coyle's Clarets.
Meanwhile, Sunderland boss Roy Keane has confirmed he rejected an offer for defender Danny Higginbotham last week.
Keane said: "He's done well for us, he played 20-odd games in the Premier League last season and scored three or four goals, so I don't think his value should have halved."
