City boss short of attacking options

Mark Hughes faces a desperate search for new faces before the summer transfer window slams shut. The Manchester City boss is running low on attacking options and has just 10 days to find suitable signings ahead of the 31st August deadline. Benjani, Valeri Bojinov and Darius Vassell are all facing lengthy spells on the sidelines, while Brazilian hit-man Jo is yet to return from international duty at the Beijing Olympics. With his resources stretched to breaking point, Hughes admits that he may be forced to delve into the transfer market. "We have three main strikers out injured for a significant period so we are obviously short," he said. "We need to address the situation we now find ourselves in."
