Crystal Palace have handed a trial to former Everton midfielder John Oster.
The 29-year-old is a free agent after being released by Reading at the end of last season and is on the lookout for a new club.
The Wales international had been training with the Eagles' Championship rivals Derby, but recently turned down a contract offer from the Rams.
He featured for a Palace XI in a 3-2 friendly win over Dover Athletic earlier this week.
The winger has gained plenty of experience during an eight-club career, and has featured in the Premier League for Everton, Sunderland and the Royals.
With the new season fast approaching Warnock is also set to run the rule over former Southampton midfielder Leandre Griffit.
Meanwhile, the Palace boss is also set to hand a new two-year contract to Matt Lawrence.
The veteran defender's current deal is set to expire next summer, but Warnock is keen to keep the 34-year-old at Selhurst Park until 2010.
He told South London Press: "We're talking to Matt's agent and I would like to give him a two-year deal.
"He's one of our consistent lads. I've been pleased with how he's done and it's only fair to reward him."
