Paul Sturrock has revealed that a new player will be unveiled within 48 hours, subject to passing a medical.
Sturrock has been busy trying to strengthen his squad ahead of Plymouth's first game of the season against Wolves on Saturday.
He has been frustrated so far but has now confirmed that one player has already signed and should be available for the match at Home Park.
The identity of the player has not been disclosed but Plymouth have been strongly linked with a move for Queens Park Rangers midfielder Simon Walton.
Sturrock said: "We have one player who has put pen-to-paper on the proviso that he passes a medical on Tuesday.
"I would like to think, before the end of the transfer window, we will have several more players coming to the football club."
