Veteran defender happy to sign new 12-month deal

Wolves full-back Michael Gray has secured his future by signing a new one-year contract at Molineux. Gray's previous deal expired at the end of the last campaign, but he returned to Wolves for pre-season training. The former England international has now accepted a fresh deal and is happy to be staying with Mick McCarthy's side. "Even though my contract was up at the end of last season, I have always felt a part of things since we got back at the beginning of July," Gray told the club's official website.

Man of his word

"I've had talks with the gaffer right through, so it's not as if I've been left out on the sidelines. "Mick is a man of his word and I always knew I was going to sign - it was just making sure that things were right for myself." Wolves boss McCarthy added: "I'm absolutely delighted that Micky is staying with us. "He brings quality to the place and is a great character - he is loved by all the lads."
