Paul Smith has signed a new two-year contract with Championship new-boys Nottingham Forest.

The 29-year-old kept 25 clean sheets last season and was an ever-present in the Reds' promotion campaign.

He made 51 appearances in all competitions and saw his consistency rewarded with the League One Golden Glove award.

He arrived at the City Ground from Southampton in 2006 and admits that he is delighted to have extended his stay at the club.

"I've really enjoyed the two seasons I've had with Forest so far, culminating in our promotion at the end of last season which was a wonderful experience," Smith told the club's official website.

"I'm really looking forward to playing for the club in the Championship and had no hesitation in agreeing a new contract."
