Scottish defender to feature in friendly with Scunthorpe

Veteran defender Steven Pressley is training with Doncaster Rovers as he looks for a new club. Pressley left Celtic at the end of last season after his contract with the SPL champions expired. The 34-year-old is keen to continue playing, rather than retire, and has now been offered an opportunity by Doncaster. He is due to feature in Saturday's friendly against Scunthorpe United and Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll is prepared to have a look at Pressley.

Favourable opinion

"I've been totally up front with Steven and at 34, he probably wasn't somebody who was on our radar," O'Driscoll told the club's official website. "But when you talk to various people who have played with him and the people at Celtic, he got such a favourable opinion. "He wasn't doing anything and we gave him the option to come down here and train and he's put himself in the shop window - so to speak - against Scunthorpe. "He's took that opportunity and he'll play tomorrow."
