Coventry City have announced that striker Clinton Morrison has joined up with the club for pre-season training.

Morrison, 29, is out of contract after he failed to agree a new deal with his former side Crystal Palace at the end of last season.

Sky Blues manager Chris Coleman recently confirmed his interest in the Republic of Ireland international, and is set to have a closer look at him during their pre-season tour of Switzerland.

Coleman told the club's official website: "Clinton is a free agent and we are having a good look at him and he's having a look at us.

"There is no commitment from either side. He'll use the time with us to maintain his fitness and sharpness.

"As we have said all along, we are trying to bring the right players to the football club and I believe that after the signing of Freddy Eastwood, our fans can see the level we are trying to achieve."
