Sociedad eye former Bolton ace

Ivan Campo is in talks with Real Sociedad about a move back to Spain. The former Spanish international has been released by Bolton Wanderers and he is now set for a return to his homeland. The versatile 34-year-old, who hails from the Basque Country, is hoping to finalise the terms of a deal. "This would be a very attractive move for me," he declared to El Mundo Deportivo. "My parents live there and to play for Real is a positive option. "That is my first consideration right now. "My goal right now is to continue playing football and what better place to do that than at Real?"

Gunners talks

Sociedad are also hoping to strike a double deal with Arsenal for youngsters Fran Merida and Pedro Botelho. Midfielder Merida spent the latter part of last season on loan with Sociedad, whilst Brazilian Botelho was also in Spain last term as he spent the campaign with Salamanca. Now Socidead president Inaki Badiola is hoping Arsenal will be persuaded to let both players spend the season with them.
