Southampton captain Youssef Safri is on the verge of completing a move to Qatar.
The Saints have agreed a fee in the region of £300,000 for the Morocco midfielder, who looks set to pen a three-year deal with Qatar Sports Club.
Safri only arrived at St Mary's from Championship rivals Norwich just under a year ago, but has made it clear that he feels the time is right to move on.
Should the move go through without any hitches then the 31-year-old will join up with fellow Moroccan, and former Charlton defender, Talal El Karkouri and ex-Manchester United midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba at Qatar.
"Youssef did very well for us and we would like to have kept him," plc chairman Rupert Lowe told Southampton's official website.
"However, he requested to be allowed to play in the Gulf and we did not want to stand in his way."
