Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope is hoping to conclude a deal for Swansea striker Darryl Duffy in the next 48 hours.
Trollope has been locked in talks with Duffy and his agent and is keen to have the forward on board in time for when pre-season training gets under way on Thursday.
A deal for former Falkirk and Hull player Duffy is expected to cost the Pirates around £100,000.
Trollope told the Bristol Evening Post: "We are hoping to tie things up in the next few days.
"There are still a few details to conclude, but things are looking good."
